We'd just met at an event and she was glowing about me.

She pulled me in for a selfie. Posted it on her stories. Gave me the most generous shout-out. I remember thinking, “Wow, this woman gets it. We're going to be great friends.”

So I messaged her. Nothing.

I messaged her again. Still nothing.

She disappeared completely. Like the selfie and the shout-out never happened.

I had no idea why.

Maybe she looked at my Instagram. Decided I wasn't her vibe. Maybe someone she trusted said something about me. I know I’m not everyone’s vibe. 

I'll probably never know.

However, it didn't feel great.

Celebrated one day, erased the next. It triggers something old: that feeling of being left out. 

The old Elvira would have gone into a full spiral. She would have replayed every moment of that conversation looking for what she did wrong. I would have given this woman so much of my power.

The new Elvira let it go.

I've done enough of my Inner Work to know that what other people think of me is none of my business.

I have a theory about it: 

Some people get uncomfortable around women who are playing big. I'm not saying that's definitely what happened. I'll never know.

I'm also not going to dim my light on the off chance it makes someone else more comfortable.

Here's what I know: the wounds we haven't healed make us reactive. Every slight becomes a crisis. Every exclusion sends us right back to feeling 12 years old.

And the wounds we have healed? They still sting sometimes. But they don't spiral. They don't stick. They don't take your peace.

That's the difference.

A few weeks ago this would have ruined my week.

Instead I noticed it, sat with it for a moment, and moved on.

Later that same day I was on a call with a woman I adore, planning something I'm genuinely excited about. My vibration was high. My energy was intact.

The woman who ghosted me got none of it.
