Jim Carrey once said: “I think everybody should get rich and famous and do everything they ever dreamed of so they can see that it’s not the answer.”
WOW…mic drop.
He also said “You can fail at what you don’t want, so you might as well take a chance on what you love.”
So.So.Good.
You see, his dad played it safe his whole life. Just like my beloved daddy. They took the “sensible” jobs.
They buried what they truly had in them to do. Jim’s dad was hilarious & could have been an amazing comic. He got laid off at 51.
My dad who should have been singing his heart out on world-class stages had a nervous breakdown in his mid 50’s & could never work again.
His body kept score. Living out of alignment, inauthentically, not fully self-expressed took a hard toll on him.
Jim decided: I’m not doing what my father did. I’m choosing to be happy. He went on to write himself a cheque for $10 million and dated it Thanksgiving 1995. And he got paid exactly that at that time to star in ‘The Mask’.
WOW!
I believe he manifested that miracle because he had the courage to become FULLY self-expressed…TRULY HIMSELF ☆
I personally had the courage to become a pro jazz artist at 51. My father who could sing like Pavarotti (who told me women on stages were sluts…yikes!) never got to shine bright & serve the world with his light…his music.
Both Jim’s dad and my own showed Jim & I what NOT to do.
Now here’s what I want you to sit with for a moment.
