OK *|FNAME|*, I’m getting really personal with you today.
For 27 years, I showed up in careers that looked like success from the outside.
I worked in a cancer research for 7 years, then I was a pharmaceutical rep for 20 years.
I ‘had it all’: the six-figure salary, multiple awards, exotic travel, company car, expense account…etc and yet I felt like a complete fraud on the inside. Every. Single. Day.
I had people-pleased my way into two careers that were never mine to begin with.
My parents wanted safety and security for me, so that’s what I pretended I wanted & chased.
I buried the little girl who wanted to sing, dance, and act on stage.
I told myself: That’s just not realistic.
So I kept going. Kept smiling. Kept performing.
Then came the corporate bullying. A colleague and man who was once my ‘work spouse’ turned on me. I heard him say some things behind my back, I retaliated, and it got nasty.
My reputation, the one I had spent 18 years building, was shredded overnight.
Then I started getting bullied in my personal life too.
I hit a darkness I had never known before. Two full on years of depression, anxiety, and panic attacks.
There were mornings I could barely get out of bed. My young son was the reason I kept moving forward.
I was shown at my rockbottom that I was the Common Denominator & that I had attracted the bullying.
Bullies don’t pick on people at random. They find the sign on your back that says “kick me.” And mine was on full display.
I was sick and tired of being sick and tired.
That’s when something cracked open.
I looked myself in the mirror and said: give me a WAY that helps me get out of this darkness because I am NOT living like this anymore.
That was my IBTT Moment. I’m Better Than This.
Not better than other people. Better than the situation I had allowed myself to stay in. Better than the story I kept telling myself. Better than the Crap Magnet I had become.
The moment I claimed that, the universe showed up. A disastrous client call with my boss in the car became my blessed breakdown that led to my breakthrough. I took a leave of absence.
My company went on to restructure and handed me a full-salary & bonus severance package for nearly a year.
All of it. Because I had one moment of clarity where I said: enough.
I became a life coach.
Hallelujah! I was able to manifest my wildest dreams when I had the courage to become truly ME ☆
Once you have your IBTT moment, something shifts that you can’t unfeel. You stop outsourcing your happiness to shopping trips, cookies, and venting sessions with friends (… no judgment, been there too)
I stopped attracting the energy that was keeping me stuck. I started spiralling up instead of down.
And the thing that still surprises me? The WAY that made it happen is astonishingly simple.
I know that sounds too good to be true.
