Today’s message comes straight from my heart to yours, especially if you’re navigating the complex waters of midlife while managing mental health challenges.
I want to share something powerful with you: Full Self-Expression isn’t just a nice-to-have – it’s medicine for the soul.
My FULL self-expression turned around my depression…once & for ALL.
At 51, I didn’t just become a professional jazz artist; I found my way back to myself.
Many of you know my story – the depression, anxiety, panic attacks, bipolar disorder, a marriage that was crumbling, and the darkest thoughts that kept me company at night.
But here’s what I discovered: when we dare to express our fullest, most authentic selves, something magical happens ☆
For those of us who are neurodivergent or walking the path of mental health challenges, society often convinces us to ‘tone it down’ …to ‘fit in’.
But what if our unique way of experiencing the world isn’t a burden, but a gift waiting to be unwrapped?
Think about it…
♡ When we express ourselves fully, we stop using precious energy to mask and conform ♡
♡ Authentic self-expression releases dopamine and serotonin–nature’s own antidepressants ♡
♡ Creating and sharing from our truth connects us with others who resonate with our frequency ♡
♡ Every act of self-expression is an act of self-love and self-acceptance ♡
You don’t have to become a jazz artist (unless that’s your calling too!). Your ‘Miracle Mix’ might be:
☆ Writing poetry that only YOU read…or not…maybe that you turn into songs…or not ☆
☆ Starting that quirky business you’ve been dreaming about ☆
☆ Speaking your truth in relationships ☆
☆ Dressing in ways that make your heart sing ☆
☆ Creating art that expresses your unique perspective ☆
This week I invite you to:
Choose one small way to express yourself more FULLY this week.
Maybe it’s wearing that bold lipstick, sharing your writing in our MMZ community group this weekend, or finally signing up for that dance class!
Remember: your authentic expression is never TOO much – it’s exactly what the world needs.

If you’re reading this while in the depths of depression or anxiety, I see you. I’ve been there. Starting small is okay.
Even thinking about how you might express yourself more fully is a step forward. You don’t have to do it all at once.
Say to yourself:
“My authentic self-expression is a gift to the world and medicine for my soul. As I align with my truth, I create space for healing and joy!”
