Holding Grief Without Bypassing It

Holding Grief Without Bypassing It

Renee Nicole Good was a mother, a poet, a compassionate and loving human being.

She mattered.

I want to pause.

Not to “rise above it.”
Not to “look for the silver lining.”
Not to rush anyone into gratitude or growth.

Because right now, Minneapolis is hurting.

And when humans hurt, it matters.

If you are feeling shocked, angry, numb, exhausted, heartbroken, or deeply sad…
nothing is wrong with you.

Grief is not a failure of mindset.

Grief is love with nowhere to go.

So today, let’s simply sit together in the truth:

Some things are heavy.
Some losses are unjust.
Some moments ask us to witness, not fix.

If your nervous system feels frayed, it makes sense.

If your tears and/or anger come in waves, they are welcome here.

If you don’t have words, your silence belongs too.

And gently, only when it feels safe, I want to remind you of this:

🕯️Humanity has always healed in circles.

By telling the truth.
By holding one another.
By refusing to look away.

Hope doesn’t mean pretending everything is okay.

Hope means choosing to stay tender in a world that keeps hardening.

Beautiful soul, to honour your hurt over the injustice of a sacred life lost, I invite you to light a candle.

Place a hand on your heart.
Breathe a little slower than usual.
Let your grief be seen.

You are not alone in this.

Your sorrow is shared.

And even now, especially now, your love deeply matters.

Rest in peace, Renee Nicole Good.
You will always be remembered ♡
